First few days Abroad.

Your first few days of adjustment in a foreign country contribute to your overall attitude towards living there. "First impression is the best impression", right? But you should make an effort to first make an impression in the university you are studying at.
Most Universities have an orientation program directed towards international students l
ike international week. Being an international student you should avail this opportunity and put yourself out there. This is the best time to socialize. Like you every other student is also nervous about the new place and for most of them it is their first time abroad too. I know it is a stressful time but make sure you are out of your comfort zone and make a name for yourself. Mingle with everyone and don't just stick to your "country mates". This opportunity to socialize is the easiest of all and all you have to do is make friends not contacts. Just remembers these friends will soon turn into contacts. Very important ones at that.
During this week, even the clubs are open for you to join. Go around the campus looking for your interest. Join a few clubs, this way you get into a closed group. This boosts your skill and also your confidence. It also looks good on your resume. If there is something you haven't tried but want to and are scared then don't hesitate at all. Like I already told you everybody out there are also new. Get out of your comfort zone and watch wonders happen. BTW they don't happen just like that, you make them happen. Awesome, right?
If you think unpacking your luggage is the most important thing to do then you can't be more wrong. Well being neat and organised is important but not at the cost of missing out on wonderful opportunities.
Did I make it sound complicated? It's not. The best part is the orientation is the most fun thing that you could do. You get to meet people from all over the world, the orientation leaders organize various fun activities, and you also get tours of the locality.
If this doesn't convince then I don't know what else will. Just remember LIFE BEGINS AT THE END OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE!

If you want to study abroad then you should consider Confluence
